Can you believe that was me trying to be funny or clever? Well anyways in this part of my blog I am going to be talking about transgender suicide. Yeah I know, I told you it was something heavy. I will be talking about that issue which is a world wide problem it happens all the time (which is very sad and terrible) I mean someone around the world is probably trying to commit suicide right this second. I just want to give a hug to all those sad people you know, make them aware that someone, even a complete stranger cares about them but that is impossible. I am only one fifteen year old girl with very short arms. All I can do right now is talk about it I guess and it's gonna have to be enough for now. Alright so you know my topic but in this post I am going to be specifically be talking about one dead person. The beautiful Leelah Alcorn. When I found out about her I was laying on my bed, not being productive at all. And I was having one of those off days and her story only made me more glum but whatever it is not about me. I went on Twitter and people were retweeting the hashtag "RIP Leelah" or I do not know it was something close to that. So I decided to look into it and there was a picture of her wearing a dress and she looked so happy but then right next to that picture there was one that was supposed to be her suicide note which she had posted to tumblr. It was so raw and sad, I hated reading that but what made things worse is that Google told me that her parents refused to even acknowledge her as a girl, imagine how that would feel, to be neglected because of who you can't help but be in your soul and stuff. The mom didn't even tell people the real reason why she died she was all like "My SON died because he was in a CAR ACCIDENT" I was so pissed at that. Like no girl get it through your head, she wanted you to try and understand. Man, it's so messed up.

Hey Nicole, I love how you chose to talk about this topic, I really enjoy reading about it. First of all, I really like your sense of humour and how you mentioned wanting to give a hug to complete strangers. I love the way you are showing to the readers what you feel and it really makes it more fun and interesting to read. I really look forward to reading your next posts!
ReplyDeleteHey Nicole, this blog post gave me the feels, maybe because it'S a touchy subject. But first off, I really liked the humour you put in this blog post despite the heavy topic. (I am a fifteen year old girl with very short arms) But I agree with you, suicide overall is very sad but it's even more tragic when the person died without being acknowledged as the person they really identified as. Everyone deserves to be respected.
ReplyDeleteGood voice throughout. What an important topic. I would be very interested in seeing the what other fascinating people you were planning on talking about.
ReplyDeleteA few issues :
Spelling / Grammar / Typos. (run-ons, awkward sentences: “about people who deserve way more then what they actually do.”, etc.)
